Healing Lodges
Sage Spirit Terra has what in many cultures is known as a “sweat” Lodge.

We call it the Sacred Healing Lodge of Fire & Water because there is a perfect Balance of All of the Elements – Earth, Air, Fir and Water. But more importantly there is perfect balance between the Male and Female Energies – the Sacred Dance of Duality on Mother Earth.

The Stones from the Earth are being heated by the masculine energies of air & fire. The fire circle is surrounded by stones from other Lodges. The Firekeeper chooses the stones after praying & discussing the Healing with the Lodge Keeper, builds the fire around the Stones, and brings the Stones to the participants in the Lodge.

There is an altar between the Fire & the Lodge as well as a Spirit Line that only the Fire Keeper can cross. The Altar is the Center of a figure 8 energetically. The energy flows into the Lodge from the Left to Right in a clockwise manner, crosses the Center and flows into the fire circle, Right to Left, circle around and in the Fire, clearing toxins of many sorts. The Altar is the Center between the Fire & Lodge.

The Lodge Keeper communes with Spirit/Creator; Mother, Father God Names, the One known by a Thousand Names, All That Is, prior to and during the Lodge. The Lodge is the Womb with an Earthen bowl in the Center waiting to receive the Glowing Hot Stones, known as Grandmothers & Grandfathers. The Stones & Bones hold the Wisdom of the Earth. The earth from the Bowl went to make the Altar. There is no light in the Lodge, except from the glow of the rocks. Once the Stones have been placed in the bowl, herbs of blessing & gratitude are placed on the stones & Ceremony continues with the Fire Keeper bringing in the Water, which is poured over the Hot Stones & so it begins. When All that Is concludes the ceremony we all exit to our left so as not to cross the Spirit Line from the center of the Fire to Center of the Lodge.

Our Lodges are privately requested Healings. Each is unique to the individual seeking help. Contributions are discussed when the Lodge date is set as well as protocol & attire. Bring dry clothes & towels. Public Ceremonies are conducted by Others, trained in the Art. We have been privileged to have had John “Many Voices” Armbruster pour as well as Dan Wenglarz, who supervised the construction of this Lodge with Melvin L. Thomas.

The Healing Lodge and Turtle Lodge are available to trained pourers/lodge keepers. Call for availability and guidelines.

The Earth Calendar is the aligned with the Heavens, bringing Heaven to Earth. Therefore we are honoring the Earth/Moon calendar with Ceremonial Healing Lodges as they are requested.

As a part of the ceremony we share food after the Lodge. The Ceremony is Sacred for Each Individual attending so it is important to take care of ourSelves and not others. It is the Pourer's job to hold the Space Safe for All attending. Here are some simple guidelines for maximum benefit:

Hydrate your self before and after the Lodge

Wear cotton clothing - if it is winter wear layers that can be peeled off as the heat intensifies.

Women- the outer clothing is a skirt/sarong/towel wrapped around you as your sacred hoop of protection. With a cotton tee shirt or wear a long cotton dress.

Men wear shorts/ cut offs/ baggy swim trunks, again preferably cotton.

No shoes in the Lodge - wear foot wear that it easy to get on & off.

All jewelry & metal will be left at the door unless it is something you never take off. There will be a basket.

If you want anything to be Blessed, bring the item to put on or beside the alter.

Bring a towel for the Lodge & a dry towel plus dry clothes.

The Lodge is for personal Healing Work - we ask that Each Participant be quiet, go within & pray.

Women on their Moon Time have very Powerful Energy.
We ask that they stay in the Turtle Lodge and hold the Energy for the Lodge Participants with Prayer & Dance. Singing & Drumming disrupt the Lodge energy.

Investment:
A dish of Food or Drink (non-alcoholic) to share and a Love Donation for the Facilitators and the Maintenance of the Land & Lodges.

When we have to purchase stones, wood, sacred herbs plus the regular upkeep expenses of utilities, water, paper products, cleaning supplies. For us to organize all of the details, get Firekeeper, prepare food and facilitate a Healing Lodge is $500.00 for approximately 10 hours with everything included for a minimum of five participants.

An Exchange of Energy is Critical to Maintain Balance & Harmony.

We must Give to Receive.

DRUM CIRCLE SCHEDULE 2008:

The Drum Circles at Sage Spirit Terra are Shamanic Journey Circles for Personal Empowerment. We go deep within to the beat of the drum to seek answers for ourselves. My teachers are from South America; we follow their methods. The Drum represents the womb & combined with the masculine beater stick, we create anew.

The original drummers were women from the inception of the drums in 25,000 BCE. The Women used single headed drums for ceremonies for their family and Community. The single-headed drum is used around the globe to reach altered states of consciousness; to access the Beings of the Earth and the Universe who are waiting to guide & help for us. We must ask before they can help us.

The drum circles are open to all who are called on the New Moon and the Sacred Days in the Circle of Life.

On the New Moon we ask for what we want to make Manifest.

From the black void comes All Creation that is why the New Moon is the most power filled time of the month.  The Moon Cycle is the Earth Calendar which also includes the four seasonal changes and their midpoints.

The drum circles are held in the Turtle Lodge at Sage Spirit Terra     9464 North Meer Road, Michigan City, Indiana 46360
